Leadership Program
Developing Tomorrow's Leaders Through Service & Character
Our leadership program cultivates responsibility, initiative, and community service. Scholars learn to lead by example, manage conflicts, organize events, and serve their peers and community. The semester curriculum is maintained as editable program content.
Leadership roles are managed by program administrators and may change by semester — they are not permanently fixed to five options.
Learning Objectives
- Develop leadership qualities: responsibility, integrity, empathy, and initiative

Unit 1 · Weeks 1–3
What Makes a Leader?
- Leadership style self-assessment
- Biography study: leaders who changed the world
- Personal mission statement writing
- "My Leadership Strengths" presentation
Unit 2 · Weeks 4–6
Communication & Teamwork
- Active listening exercises and partner interviews
- Team challenge: marshmallow tower build
- Conflict resolution role-playing scenarios
- Group presentation on teamwork lessons
Unit 3 · Weeks 7–9
Service Project Planning
- Community needs brainstorming
- Service project proposal writing
- Budget planning and resource gathering
- Project execution and reflection
Semester Curriculum — Fall: Leading with Purpose
Unit 1 · Weeks 1–4
Public Speaking Workshop
- Overcoming stage fright techniques
- Speech writing: persuasive and informative
- Practice presentations with peer feedback
- "TED Talk Jr." showcase event
Unit 2 · Weeks 5–8
Event Planning & Organization
- Event concept development and pitching
- Task delegation and timeline creation
- Budget management and resource allocation
- Execute a program-wide event (talent show, reading fair)

Mentorship & Peer Support
- Peer mentoring training and role assignments
- Buddy system with younger scholars

Unit 1 · Weeks 1–4
Financial Literacy Basics
- Needs vs. wants sorting activity
- Budgeting simulation with play money
- Entrepreneurship mini-project: product pitch
- Savings goal tracker creation
Unit 2 · Weeks 5–8
Community Advocacy
- Identifying community issues and solutions
- Letter-writing campaign to local leaders
- Poster creation for awareness campaigns

Legacy Project
- Capstone project selection and planning

Manages classroom library, tracks book check-outs
Kindness Ambassador
Recognizes and celebrates acts of kindness among peers

Roles rotate so every scholar gets the chance to lead — the list evolves with the program.
